Photo of the Day: Paul Konerko gets a very Wrigley gift
White Sox legend Paul Konerko is in his final season, so his crosstown rivals decided to give him a gift.
On Tuesday night, White Sox legend Paul Konerko is playing his final game in Wrigley Field, home of the crosstown Cubs. To mark the occasion and to show some appreciation to their municipal rival, the Cubs broke off a piece of Wrigley Field for him ...
That would be the no. 14 -- the number Konerko has worn since joining the Pale Hose prior to the 1999 season -- and, as noted in the above tweet, it's been plucked from the greatest scoreboard in MLB. Not bad, Cubs.
For what it's worth, Konerko entered Tuesday play with a career line of .296/.356/.584 against the Cubs and a line of .311/.362/.521 in Wrigley. He'll miss those Cubbies.
