Rays' Matt Moore leaves start with elbow soreness, set for MRI
Rays lefty Matt Moore was forced from his Monday night start against the Royals after feeling discomfort in his elbow. He's scheduled for a Tuesday MRI.
Rays lefty Matt Moore was forced to exit his Monday night start against the Royals in the fifth inning because of elbow soreness. Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times tweets that Moore will undergo an MRI on Tuesday.
Moore, just as he delivered a 2-2 pitch to Norichika Aoki, grimaced and appeared to be in discomfort. After the pitch he summoned his catcher to the mound, and the team trainer and manager Joe Maddon soon followed. He was replaced by reliever Cesar Ramos.

The 24-year-old Moore, who pitched to a 3.29 ERA last season despite struggling with his control, missed more than a month last season with elbow inflammation.
