Reds sign Cuban RHP Raisel Iglesias to seven-year, $27 million deal

The Reds have signed Cuban right-hander Raisel Iglesias to a seven-year contract writes C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer. The deal will run through the 2020 season, and our own Jon Heyman pegs the total value at $27 million. 

Iglesias, 24, was a primary reliever in Cuba, and he boasts good velocity on his fastball. Here's some scouting footage posted by Baseball America ... 

Although he's 24, Iglesias still has some projectability, especially when it comes to adding velocity. Provided Iglesias clears the bureaucratic hurdles in time, he's expected to pitch in the Arizona Fall League. 

As Rosecrans tweets, Reds GM Walt Jocketty sees Iglesias as a possible starter at the highest level.
