Report: A-Rod hires Ryan Braun's former lawyer for Biogenesis case
Alex Rodriguez has added David Cornwell to his legal team, according to a report. In 2012, Cornwell helped Ryan Braun win his appeal.
Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez has added David Cornwell to his legal team in advance of MLB's anticipated attempts to discipline him over the Biogenesis scandal, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell. Cornwell, an Atlanta-based attorney, previously represented Ryan Braun of the Brewers in his successful appeal of a PED-related suspension in 2012.
Rodriguez and Braun are among those allegedly linked to the now-shuttered Biogenesis clinic in South Florida, which is believed to have operated as a banned-substance "pipeline" for up to 20 MLB players. Reportedly, the clinic's founder, Anthony Bosch, recently agreed to cooperate in MLB's investigation. As also previously reported, MLB is believed to be angling to discipline Rodriguez, Braun and others tied to Biogenesis.
