The Angels have reportedly decided to demote lefty Hector Santiago to the bullpen, at least for the time being. Here's the relevant tweet from Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times:

Santiago was listed as a reliever prior to Friday night's game against the Blue Jays. As Shaikin later notes, it's not yet certain who'll take Santiago's next scheduled turn on Tuesday.

This season, the 26-year-old Santiago has pitched to a 5.19 ERA and a career-worst 1.67 K/BB ratio after seven starts. For his career, he owns an ERA+ of 116 across parts of four major-league seasons.

The Angels acquired Santiago this past offseason from the White Sox as part of the three-team trade that send Mark Trumbo to the Diamondbacks.
