Report: Diamondbacks to get Aaron Hill back this week
After missing all but 10 games this season due to a broken hand, D-Backs second baseman Aaron Hill is reportedly set to return this week.
Diamondbacks second baseman Aaron Hill hasn't played since breaking his hand on April 14, but he's due back this week, likely during the series against the Nationals -- reports AZCentral.com -- which will begin Tuesday.
Hill has been on a minor-league rehab assignment for just over a week, and he entered Sunday hitting .375 with a double, triple and six RBI in six games for Triple-A Reno.
Hill, 31, is hitting .306/.405/.556 with three doubles, two homers and six RBI in just 10 games this season. He's coming off a season in which he hit .302/.360/.522 with 44 doubles, six triples, 26 homers and 85 RBI -- good enough to win the NL Silver Slugger at second base.
Without Hill, the Diamondbacks have been using a combination of Willie Bloomquist and Cliff Pennington the past several weeks.
Arizona entered Sunday with a three-game lead in the NL West.
