Report: Dodgers sign Chone Figgins to minor league contract
Chone Figgins is going to attempt a comeback. He's signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers according to a Fox Sports report.
Figgins, 36, did not play at all last season after failing to make the Marlins out of spring training. He last played with the Mariners in 2012, hitting .181/.262/.271 (53 OPS+) in 66 games. Figgins hit .227/.302/.283 (68 OPS+) during the life of his four-year, $36 million contract with Seattle.
Figgins will compete with Dee Gordon, Alexander Guerrero and Justin Sellers for a reserve infield role. He has played every position in MLB other than pitcher, catcher and first base in his career.
