Diamondbacks slugger Mark Trumbo got word earlier this week that he had suffered a stress fracture in his left foot. Friday, he told Jack Magruder of Fox Sports Arizona that it's a fracture to the third metatarsal and it will cause Trumbo to miss six weeks.

Trumbo, 28, is hitting .210/.264/.506 (109 OPS+) with three doubles, an NL-best seven homers and 19 RBI in 21 games this season. He's essentially a one-dimensional player with the power, but the D-Backs will certainly miss that in their order. Behind Paul Goldschmidt, the 4-5 hitters now will be Miguel Montero and Aaron Hill.

If Trumbo can return in six weeks, exactly, from Friday that would make his return June 6. In the meantime, expect Cody Ross to be the everyday left fielder.
