According to Local 10 Miami, Marlins team president David Samson will be one of 18 contestants in the next season of Survivor. CBS has already announced the show will take place in a Philippines but the contestants have not yet been officially named.

Local 10 was unable to reach Samson for comment.  The team is in the middle of its offseason.  According to our source, it's unlikely Samson could even comment on his participation since CBS will officially announce the contestants in a few weeks.

Samson, 45, has participated in other grueling endurance competitions over the years. He competed in an Ironman event in Hawaii and also ran a 52-mile double marathon for charity.

Contestants on Survivor are isolated to the wild and eliminated throughout the season as they brave the elements. The next season debuts next month on CBS.
