Report: Phillies agree to terms with Roberto Hernandez
According to reports, the Phillies have landed the hurler formerly known as Fausto Carmona.
The Phillies have agreed to terms with Roberto Hernandez, the right-hander who formerly went by the assumed name of "Fausto Carmona," reports Jim Salisbury of CSN Philadelphia. Hernandez will be installed in the Philly rotation.
The 33-year-old Hernandez in 2013 logged a 4.89 ERA (78 ERA+) and 2.97 K/BB ratio in 151 innings for the Rays. For his career, he's pitched to a 4.67 ERA (89 ERA+) across parts of eight major-league seasons. With the Indians in 2010 he was named to the All-Star team, and in 2007 he finished fourth in the AL Cy Young balloting.
