According to Peter Gammons of MLB Network, the Red Sox are getting a lot of calls about the availability of lefty reliever Andrew Miller. Boston comes into Saturday seven games out of a playoff spot and could move some veterans at the trade deadline.

Miller, 29, has been absolutely dominant for the defending World Series champions this season. He has a 2.19 ERA with a 0.97 WHIP in 37 innings, striking out 60 batters while walking only 12. Miller has held lefty hitters to a .167/.224/.241 batting line as well.

There isn't a team in baseball -- contending or otherwise -- that couldn't use a reliever like Miller, so it's no surprise he's generating a lot of interest. Teams like the Royals, Angels, Tigers, Dodgers, Braves, Nationals and Cardinals could all have interest, though that is just my speculation.

Miller is owed approximately $850,000 for the rest of the season and will become a free agent this winter, so he's a pure rental. As you might remember, Miller was the sixth overall pick in the 2006 draft and part of the package the Tigers traded to the Marlins for Miguel Cabrera in December 2007.
