Schumaker 'shocked' ex-teammate Lohse hasn't gotten a job
After playing behind Kyle Lohse the last four years with the Cardinals, Skip Schumaker never imagined Lohse would go into March without signing somewhere as a free agent.
"I'm shocked," Schumaker said Thursday morning in the Dodgers clubhouse. "He's a proven winner. He hasn't missed a start the last two years. He's been dominant. And he's not a power guy, so he's not going to struggle if he loses a little velocity as he gets older.
"I just can't believe it, and I'm not just saying that because we're close friends."
Schumaker came to the Dodgers in a December trade. Back in December, it seemed like it would be just a matter of time before Lohse signed somewhere.
He still hasn't, and by all indications still hasn't come close to finding a team.
