Tigers' Ian Kinsler replaces Victor Martinez on AL All-Star roster
The AL All-Star roster has swapped out one Detroit Tiger for another.
Tigers second baseman Ian Kinsler has been added to the American League All-Star roster, writes Jackson Alexander of MLB.com. Kinsler takes the place of his Detroit teammate, DH Victor Martinez, who has missed the last six games because of a sore right side.
Kinsler is certainly a worthy choice, as this season he's batting .305/.338/.474 with 11 home runs in 397 plate appearances while also contributing value with the glove and on the bases. The Tigers acquired Kinsler this past offseason in a blockbuster with the Rangers that landed Prince Fielder in Texas.
Kinsler previously made the All-Star team in 2008, 2010 and 2012.
