Trevor Cahill exits Wednesday's start with right-hip contusion
Diamondbacks right-hander Trevor Cahill left Wednesday's start against the Marlins after being hit by a line drive in the right hip.
Diamondbacks right-hander Trevor Cahill exited Wednesday afternoon's start against the Marlins after only one inning of work after being hit in the right hip by a Marcell Ozuna line drive. Here's the play:
The ball ricocheted to the third baseman, who threw to first base for the third out of the first inning. Cahill limped as he walked off the field and pointed to his right hip. He actually remained in the game to start the second inning but was removed after throwing a handful of (very wild) pitches.
Cahill, 25, came into Wednesday's game with a 3-8 record and 3.96 ERA. Arizona announced that he has a right-hip contusion.
