The Twins' nightmare season just got worse.

Pitching coach Neil Allen, now in his second season with the club, was arrested earlier today on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. The Twins have since issued a statement, with the big takeaway being that Allen has been suspended indefinitely, with pay:

"The Minnesota Twins are aware of the pending DWI charge against Pitching Coach Neil Allen. Mr. Allen has been suspended, with pay, indefinitely and the matter will be handled in accordance with the policies and procedures of the Minnesota Twins Baseball Club."

For the time being, minor-league pitching coordinator Eric Rasmussen will fill in as pitching coach. He'll have a tough job ahead: Minnesota's pitching staff enters the night with the second-highest ERA in baseball.
