Long-time big league umpire Brian O'Nora will be out indefinitely with an intestinal tear, reports the AP. MLB said there is no timetable for his return.

O'Nora, 50, left last Friday's Mets-Phillies game in the first inning with what was originally called flu-like symptoms. It was thought he had shallowed his chew, but the AP said he was feeling sick earlier that day. The game continued with three umpires.

O'Nora worked his first MLB game in 1992 and has been a full-time big league umpire since 1999. He was on the six-man umpiring crew for last year's World Series.
