VIDEO: A-Rod kinda booed, kinda cheered in return to Yankee Stadium
For the first time since being suspended for his ties to Biogenesis, Alex Rodriguez returned to Yankee Stadium. Fans gave him a mixed welcome.
After three games against the White Sox in Chicago to start his 2013 season, Alex Rodriguez returned to Yankee Stadium for the first time since the ALCS on Friday night. Since then he's undergone left hip surgery, missed time with a quad injury, and received the longest drug related suspension in baseball history (211 games).
How did the Yankees faithful welcome him? See for yourself:
That sounded like a 50/50 split between boos and cheers during introductions, no? More cheers early, more boos late I think.
Of course, the boos were very heavy at the end of his first at-bat -- he struck out with a man in scoring position to end the first inning. Yankees fans would have booed A-Rod for that with or without Biogenesis though.
