Orioles starter Wei-Yin Chen wasn't paying attention to the man on third base. So said man, Jonathan Villar, stole home.
Tuesday night marked Astros rookie Jonathan Villar's eighth career game in Major League Baseball. He had four stolen bases coming in, but something tells me this is going to be a bit more memorable than the previous four:
One could call those veteran instincts, as Wei-Yin Chen had no clue what Villar was doing at third base. Then again, if Villar gets thrown out, the narrative is that he's just a rookie being reckless, right?
Bottom line, that was a hell of an exciting play from an exciting young rookie. Well done, Mr. Villar.
