VIDEO: Brandon Phillips makes ridiculous game-saving catch
Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips saved his team a loss with an unreal diving catch on Monday.
Aroldis Chapman blew his first save of the season on Monday, sending his Reds into extra innings with the Nationals. Washington had runners on the corners with two outs in the bottom of 12th when Wilson Ramos hit a line drive back up the middle.
It appeared Ramos had just given his club a walk-off win, but second baseman Brandon Phillips had other ideas:
That's definitely one of the best defensive plays we've seen so far this season, bar none. Considering the game situation -- literally a "make this catch or you lose" situation -- it might have been the best defensive play of the year to date.
The Reds went on to win the game in 15 innings thanks to Todd Frazier's two-run home run.
