VIDEO: Braves honor Hank Aaron before home opener
In honor of the 40-year anniversary of his record-breaking 715th home run, the Braves held a pre-game ceremony for Hank Aaron Tuesday. Here it is.
As we covered earlier in this very space, Tuesday marked the 40th anniversary of Hank Aaron hitting his 715th home run -- breaking Babe Ruth's longstanding record. As good fortune would have it, Tuesday also happened to be the Braves home opener for the 2014 season. So in honor of Hank and the home opener, Turner Field was home to an extended pre-game ceremony.
Among the cool things that were done: 715 kids were standing in the outfield holding up a sign with a date for each of Aaron's first 715 homers.
