VIDEO: CBS News on Jackie Robinson's legacy
Jackie Robinson Day is Monday -- marking 66 years to the day since Robinson broke the MLB color barrier -- and '42' hit theaters everywhere Friday. To mark the occasion, CBS News has a video on the trail blazed by Robinson. Watch it here.
Monday will mark 66 years to the day since Jackie Robinson first appeared in a major-league baseball game, breaking the color barrier and effectively clearing the path for myraid players unfairly excluded due simply to the color of their skin.
Jackie Robinson Day seems extra special this year, too, as "42" hit theaters everywhere this past Friday.
And with all that in mind, CBS' Sunday Morning team has put together a piece on Robinson, which includes interviews with Robinson's widow, Rachel, and former teammate Ralph Branca.
If you have seven and a half minutes, please watch. It's well worth it.
