VIDEO: First career homer for all eight Home Run Derby participants

Here's a cool video from the fine folks at MLB -- it's a compilation of the first major-league home run for each of the eight participants in this year's Home Run Derby:

Some observations:

  • Most Impressive Homer: Michael Cuddyer, who went opposite field over the high wall in the right-center field gap at Comerica Park. That was a shot.
  • General Awesomeness: David Wright, only because he did it in Montreal. Anything with the Expos is awesome by default.
  • Best Call By The Announcer: "Home run number one for the man who is Prince but will soon be king" for Prince Fielder. That's outstanding.
  • Most Obscure: I completely forgot Carlos Gonzalez played a year with the Athletics. That confused me for a second.
