VIDEO: Gary Sheffield's first career home run

Monday (Nov. 18) marks the 45th birthday of Gary Sheffield, one of the best hitters of his generation. He would club 509 homers over the course of his 22-year career.

Here was his first, all the way back in 1988:

That's in the now-extinct Milwaukee County Stadium and take note that this came off Mark Langston of the Mariners and it was before interleague play. Yes, this was back when the Brewers were an American League team.
