VIDEO: MLB stadiums honor Boston
On Tuesday, teams across baseball honored Boston in song. Here's a clip.
Tuesday afternoon, the Yankees announced they'd be playing Sweet Caroline during their game that night against the Diamondbacks as a tribute to the city of Boston. And they weren't alone. The song was also played in Chicago, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Seattle, Oakland and -- with the Red Sox being the visiting team -- Cleveland.
"I think it's a touch of class by, not only Cleveland, but every major league city around baseball that has done something tonight," Red Sox manager John Farrell said (MLB.com). "I saw the sign on the front of the facade at Yankee Stadium, and I think the fact that they played Sweet Caroline in the third inning there, I think it's a touch of class by all of Major League Baseball to acknowledge this."
And in Milwaukee, they paid tribute to Boston as well, but not with Sweet Caroline. Instead, the Brewers went with the theme to Cheers.
MLB.com put together a video compilation of all of it. Check it out.
The true American spirit, alive and well.
Stay Boston Strong, Bostonians. We're all behind you.
