VIDEO: Oscar Taveras swats towering home run in MLB debut
In his first big league game, Cardinals top prospect Oscar Taveras clubbed a towering solo home run.
With Matt Adams landing on the disabled list, the Cardinals have called up top prospect Oscar Taveras to replace the lost offense. The 21-year-old announced his presence with authority in his first MLB game on Saturday:
That is the very definition of a big fly. It was a towering blast. A+ follow-through as well.
Now here's where it gets weird: immediately after that home run, the grounds crew ran out onto the field and pulled the tarp because of an incoming storm. Depending on how long the rain lasts, Taveras might have just hit a walk-off homer in the fifth inning for his first career hit. That would be fun.
