VIDEO: Padres with three straight extra-inning walkoff wins
The Padres have won in walkoff fashion three consecutive times.
For the third time in 2014, a team has won three straight games in walkoff fashion. For the first, all three came in extra innings. Here's the video evidence of the Padres doing so the past three games:
The Rays won on three straight walkoffs May 22-24 and the Nationals just did so Aug. 16-18. The record for consecutive walkoff victories is five and the Padres still have five more home games before they hit the road, so the record is possible.
As far as the Padres' franchise, this is the first time they have won in their last at-bat in three consecutive games since April 13-16 in 1986. This is the first time, though, that it happened in extra innings each time.
