Paul Blair was an outstanding defensive center fielder throughout his career. He was also rather familiar with big-time hits in postseason play. Take, for example, this one:
That ended Game 1 of the 1977 World Series. The Yankees would go on to win the series in six games, with Reggie Jackson's famed three-homer game capping things in Game 6 -- thus somewhat burying Blair's big hit in the national consciousness. But it was a huge hit for those Yankees.
