The championship observer will at this point note that the winning pitcher -- the Cubs' John Baker -- is not actually a pitcher. He's a catcher. However, baseball events conspired to make him a pitcher Tuesday night (read: Wednesday morning), a winning one at that. 

Regarding all of that, let's roll tape ... 

Confirmed: Mr. Baker also scored the winning run. You see, there's nothing in this world that John Baker, ad-hoc pitcher, can't do, at least once the witching hour has passed.
