VIDEO: Wil Myers flips bat, jogs to first on inside-the-park home run
Wil Myers hit an inside the park homer on Sunday, but he thought it was out of the park based on the way he flipped his bat and jogged to first.
The Yankees and Rays are wrapping up their three-game series at Yankee Stadium on Sunday, and, in the third inning, Wil Myers swatted an inside-the-park home run off CC Sabathia. Based on his reaction -- bat flip and a casual job to first -- he thought it was out of the park:
To be fair, the ball was about six inches from actually leaving the yard. Carlos Beltran should get an RBI for the way he failed to back up the play. Replays during the broadcast showed him standing still in right field until the ball actually hit Jacoby Ellsbury and rolled away. Yikes.
