The Giants beat the Mets thanks to a ninth-inning rally on Monday afternoon (SF 4, NY 3), and earlier in the game their top defensive outfielders took turns throwing each other out on the bases.

First, in the second inning, Gregor Blanco of the Giants threw out the Mets' Juan Lagares as he tried to go first to third on a single:

Then, in the seventh, Lagares returned the favor by throwing Blanco out at the plate as he tried to score from second on a single:

With all due respect to Blanco and his throw, Lagares' was clearly better in my opinion. Better throw in a bigger situation with a man trying to score late in a tie game. Both great plays though.
