Earlier this season, Mets pitcher Bartolo Colon became the oldest player in MLB history to hit his first career home run. Well, he's gone and made history again, albeit in not-quite-as-exciting fashion.

Colon drew his first career walk on Monday night in Arizona:

Diamondbacks hurler Robbie Ray probably won't live this one down for a while, but a good response could be "hey, I wasn't the one who gave up a home run to him."

True story.

Colon had gone 281 plate appearances before his first career walk, which had been the largest number of plate appearances without a walk in MLB history (per Adam Rubin of ESPN New York).

Not only that, the strikeout-to-walk aspect of Colon's line is fun. He entered the game with 142 strikeouts against zero walks.

So, yes, quite the rarity.

Of course, Colon's primary job didn't go well on Monday. He was chased from the game after four innings, having allowed five runs (two earned) on nine hits.
