With Monday's loss against the Indians, the Red Sox were officially eliminated from postseason play. That means, additionally, that David Ortiz's career has come to an end.
Before Ortiz left Fenway Park for the final time as an active player, he made sure to salute the fans who've supported him all these years. Here's the local radio broadcast's audio:

Here's a guess: this won't be the last time Ortiz acknowledges the Fenway faithful -- just, perhaps, the last time as an active player.
