Whenever Rougned Odor's name has been mentioned lately, it's been about his boxing match with Jose Bautista. On Friday night, however, everyone's favorite pugilist was part of two interesting defensive plays that should help everyone remember that -- oh yeah, by the way -- he can play some ball.

First, Odor took part in a slick-looking 4-6-3 double play:

He fielded a grounder to his right, flipped the ball from his glove to Elvis Andrus' bare hand (credit to the shortstop for handling the high throw with ease), and watched as Andrus completed the transaction.

Later, Odor finished off an even more unusual sequence of events. It went down like this. Carlos Correa hit a liner off Colby Lewis' head, causing the ball to hang in the air. Odor retreated into the outfield and made a grab, thereby recording an out:

Lewis was evidently okay -- he remained in the game -- but anytime a player takes a ball to the head, it's going to be accompanied by an uneasy feeling, no matter whether the play results in an out or not.

As for Odor, at least he's found a better use for his hands.
