Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager came into the season as the consensus No. 1 prospect in all of baseball, and he showed why Friday night. During the team's win over the Braves (LA 4, ATL 2), Seager blasted three solo home runs.

Here's video of the third and final blast, which was an opposite field job after he pulled the first two to right field:

Seager, who is still only 22, is in the middle of the power surge that has seen him hit 10 homers in his last 23 games. He now has 12 long balls for the season. Seager went into Friday's game with a .274/.331/.465 batting line and left with a .283/.338/.511 line.

The last Dodgers rookie with three home runs in a single game was outfielder Don Demeter way back in 1959. He did it against the rival Giants, and his third home run was a walk-off blast. The Dodgers and Giants had just left New York for California two years earlier.

It is not common for a rookie to hit three home runs in a game, but it did happen just last year. Giants outfielder Jarrett Parker hit three dingers against the Athletics on Sept. 26. Before Parker, the last rookie with three homers in a game was Andrew McCutchen in 2009.

By the way, Seager's older brother Kyle, who plays third base for the Mariners, has never had a three-homer game in his career. The little brother has big-time bragging rights now.
