ORLANDO -- The Yankees, Diamondbacks and Angels are on the long list of teams pursuing veteran third baseman Eric Chavez.

Chavez signed for a hometown discount of $3 million with Arizona for 2013, but after another excellent season, he is said to be looking for market value this time.

The Yankees appear to be preparing for Alex Rodriguez not being available in 2014, though both Chavez and A-Rod played in pinstripes in 2012. Chavez hit .281 with nine homers and 44 RBI in Arizona, where he lives, this past year. The Angels are an interesting third option, though there are said to be others.
