After injuring his hamstring Friday night, Yankees first baseman Mark Teixeira has been placed on the 15-day disabled list. The ensuing game of musical chairs shows the Yankees to be pretty weak at first base, too.

Kelly Johnson will take over as the everyday first baseman in Teixeira's absence. Catcher Austin Romine was recalled from the minors to backup Brian McCann and Francisco Cervelli, who was already the backup catcher, will be a backup option behind Johnson at first along with Dean Anna. With Johnson starting everyday at first, Yangervis Solarte looks to be the everyday third baseman.

Teixeira, 33, is hitting .250/.308/.250 with two RBI on the young 2014 season. He only managed 15 games played last season due to a right wrist injury. In 2012, he played in 123 games, as a calf injury limited him late in the year. In his first three seasons with the Yankees (2009-11), though, he averaged 157 games played per season.
