Yasiel Puig leaves second straight game with hip injury
The effects of running into the Coors Field wall last week continue to hamper Dodgers phenom Yasiel Puig.
Thursday night, a hip injury caused Yasiel Puig to be removed from the Dodgers' lineup in the eighth inning. Friday night, Puig was in the lineup but was removed after two at-bats due to the same hip injury.
The hip has been bothering Puig ever since he nailed the right-field wall in Coors Field on July 3 (watch video of the play here).
With only two games left until the All-Star break, it might behoove the Dodgers to keep their prized youngster out of the lineup until play resumes post-break.
Puig, 22, is hitting .392/.424/.622 with eight homers, 19 RBI, 27 runs and five stolen bases in 158 plate appearances this season.
The Dodgers have some other injury issues in the outfield, too. Carl Crawford just got back from an injury but was a late scratch on Friday with back stiffness. Matt Kemp is on the DL as he continues to have problems with his surgically repaired shoulder.
