| Posada goes to Dr. Andrews: LoHud.com reports that Jorge Posada will be examined by noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews and the catcher will abide by whatever he suggests. That might be two weeks of rest and rehab or surgery, which could cost him 4-6 weeks or possibly the rest of the season depending on how much damage there is. (Updated 04/28/2008) |

| If Posada is going to be out longer than six weeks, GM Brian Cashman probably needs to obtain a veteran catcher to pair with Jose Molina. Some possibilities include: Mike DiFelice (minors for Tampa Bay), Sal Fasano (minors for Atlanta), Doug Mirabelli (free agent cut by Boston in spring), Damian Miller (free agent), Josh Paul (minors in Houston) and Mike Piazza (free agent that hasn't caught a game since 2006 with San Diego). The Yankees could also trade one of their prospects to Pittsburgh for Ronny Paulino. Molina injured his hamstring when he saw regular at-bats earlier in the month, so whomever joins the team could play a lot, which makes them AL-only viable. Reserve Posada in all leagues for Fantasy Week 5 (April 28-May 4) and Week 6 (May 5-11) and consider him a candidate to return in Week 7 (May 12-18). (Updated 04/28/2008). |
