Reds 2B Ivan De Jesus does a bit of everything in Monday win
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

For a guy who plays sparingly, Reds second baseman Ivan De Jesus certainly seemed to be in the groove Monday night against Minnesota. He singled twice, scored twice, drove in one, walked twice and stole two bases.

He did not sell popcorn in the stands between innings.

De Jesus singled and scored in the first, slammed an RBI single in the third and walked and scored in the seventh. His fine performance sweetened his slash line to .240/.296/.420.

Ivan De Jesus will replace Eugenio Suarez at the shortstop position while batting out of the seventh spot. Finally, Tucker Barnhart will replace Brayan Pena at the catcher spot and will hit from the eighth spot.

Reds' Ivan De Jesus Jr. connects for first career HR
by Michael Hurcomb | CBSSports.com

In his fourth at-bat of the season, Reds utility player Ivan De Jesus Jr. hit his first career home run during a 6-4 win Monday against the Phillies. His two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning off Cole Hamels broke open a 3-all game.

"It's really special, the first home run of my career in the big leagues, and first one this year," De Jesus Jr. said, per MLB.com. "I was telling the guys, thank God I got my first home run [ball], because I don't [have] my first base hit. I don't know, they say it got lost, so I don't know. It was 2011, so we're still looking for that ball."

De Jesus, who appeared in his 50th game in the majors Monday, went 2 for 4 with one double in the win.
