| Padres invite Owings to camp: The Padres agreed to sign RP Micah Owings to a one-year deal worth $1 million on Wednesday, pending a physical, as reported by CBSSports.com Baseball Insider Jon Heyman. | Owings had one of the better campaigns of his career in 2011 and should benefit from manager Bud Black in San Diego. He could end up having a swing role with the Padres, which will limit his value in Fantasy, so keep an eye on how he does during the spring. But even if he breaks camp with the big club, ignore Owings in all but the deepest of NL-only formats. (Updated 02/01/2012). |
