Astros' Colby Rasmus: Accepts qualifying offer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Colby Rasmus will accept the Houston Astros ' one-year, $15.8 million qualifying offer, Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports.

The move won't net Rasmus any long-term security, but he will be paid a pretty penny in 2016 after never earning more than $8 million in any previous season. The Astors are presumably set in center field and right field with Carlos Gomez and George Springer, respectively, so he figures to see spot action at those positions but primarily play in left field.

Colby Rasmus: Extended qualifying offer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Colby Rasmus was extended a qualifying offer by the Astros on Friday.

Rasmus had a resurgence in the power department in 2015, hitting a career-best 25 home runs. The 29-year-old had a great postseason as well, slugging four more homers while hitting .412 in six games. He should land a starting job somewhere in the outfield wherever he lands.

Astros OF Colby Rasmus stays hot with third homer of ALDS
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Houston Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus went 2 for 4 with a walk and home run his third of the American League Division Series - in a Monday loss to Kansas City.

Rasmus victimized reliever Ryan Madson for the second time in the set with a solo shot to right field in the seventh inning. The 355-foot blast was his fourth home run of the 2015 playoffs. It's safe to assume the red-hot Rasmus will be in the starting lineup for the winner-take-all Game 5.

Astros OF Colby Rasmus homers in Game 1 ALDS win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Houston Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus homered in his second straight postseason game Thursday during Houston's Game 1 ALDS win over Kansas City. He went 1-for-3 with a walk, stolen base and two RBI in the game.

The 29-year-old outfielder gave the Astros a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an RBI groundout before homering late in the game off Kansas City Royals reliever Ryan Madson . He's likely to remain in the starting lineup Friday against right-hander Johnny Cueto , who he's 9-for-27 (.333) lifetime against.

Astros OF Colby Rasmus connects for HR in wild-card game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Houston Astros outfielder Colby Rasmus hit a solo home run Tuesday during Houston Cougars 's American League All-Stars wild-card game victory against the New York Yankees .

The 29-year-old outfielder gave the Astros a 1-0 lead in the second inning with a 401-foot shot over the right-field wall off Yankees starter Masahiro Tanaka . Rasmus is no stranger to the postseason, having appeared in three games of the 2009 NLDS as a member of the St. Louis Cardinals.
