| Lincoln pushing for rotation job: The Sports Xchange reports Pirates SP Brad Lincoln was challenged by manager Clint Hurdle to be ready to push for a rotation spot this spring, especially with Charlie Morton uncertain coming off hip surgery. | Lincoln was the fourth pick in the 2006 MLB draft, but he hasn't lived up to the billing in the majors. He is just 3-7 with a 5.54 ERA in 17 career starts. Although, Lincoln did show some encouraging signs down the stretch in 2011, going 2-3 with a 4.50 ERA and .294 opponents' batting average in his final seven starts. Even if Lincoln wins a rotation job, consider him more of an NL-only Fantasy SP. (Updated 01/05/2012). |
