Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Launches ninth homer Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's win over the Braves.

It's his third homer in four games and ninth of the season as Murphy continues to prove that his huge 2016 campaign was no fluke. if there's a downside to his recent power surge it's that all three blasts this week have been solo shots, accounting for all the runs he's driven in during that stretch, but the second baseman still has an impressive 33 RBI in 41 games on the year.

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Homers again in Friday loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in a 7-4 loss to the Braves on Friday.

The homer came off knuckleballer R.A. Dickey, as Murphy continues to hit the ball at a torrid pace. He now has a .325/.387/.567 slash line and should continue to receive consistent opportunities to produce in the middle of a potent Washington lineup. He's as valuable as they come at the keystone position and is a set-and-forget asset in any fantasy lineup.

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Smacks seventh homer Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Murphy went 2-for-4 with a solo home run during Thursday's loss to Pittsburgh.

The second baseman is turning in another excellent season with a .320/.385/.542 slash line, and Murphy boasts a high-floor, high-ceiling combo because of his placement in the heart of a clicking lineup. His days of posting double-digit stolen bases are in the rearview manner, but with seven home runs, 31 RBI and 26 runs, his production in the other four stat columns is better than ever.

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Heads to bench Tuesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Murphy is not in the lineup Tuesday against the Pirates, Chelsea Janes of The Washington Post reports.

Murphy will take a seat after going 0-for-6 across both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies. Wilmer Difo will draw the start at second base in his stead. Murphy putting together another nice season, and he is sporting a healthy triple slash of .317/.385/.531 with 30 RBI across 36 games (145 at-bats).

Nationals' Daniel Murphy: Tough day at office Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Murphy went 0-for-6 with a walk across both games of Sunday's doubleheader against the Phillies.

He's hitting just .182 (4-for-22) over his last seven games, but Murphy has still managed a .400 OBP during that stretch thanks to seven walks. His current 9.3 percent walk rate would be a career high for a full season, so even if Murphy's BABIP and batting average don't rebound to last season's levels he should continue providing RBI opportunities for the hitters behind him in the Nats lineup.
