Nationals' Matt Wieters: Two hits in Monday's loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wieters went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's loss to the Cubs.

The Nats have been giving Wieters fairly frequent rest lately, as he's played in just eight of the last 12 games, but the plan seems to be working as he's gone 5-for-13 over his last three starts with three RBI. The 31-year-old's .257/.310/.392 slash line on the season remains fairly lackluster, however.

Nationals' Matt Wieters: Swats sixth homer Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wieters went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Friday's win over the Mets.

It was his sixth homer of the year as he went back-to-back with Michael Taylor in the third inning to stake the Nats to a lead they'd never relinquish. Wieters had a rough start to June and is still hitting just .239/.255/.435 on the month, but being part of a potent offense like Washington's has its perks -- despite the lackluster slash line, the 31-year-old has nine RBI through 13 games in June.
