D-Backs deal for Skelton's rights: Arizona traded right-handed pitcher Brooks Brown to Detroit for Rule-5 catcher James Skelton. The Diamondbacks sent Skelton to Double-A Mobile after hitting .150 with four runs scored, a double and one RBI. Brown, a non-roster invitee to Arizona's camp, had a 20.25 ERA with six earned runs in four games.
