| Duda finds power stroke: Mets outfielder Lucas Duda, riding a 22-game homerless streak stretching back to the end of April, finally went deep on Friday against the Padres, blasting a solo shot off San Diego starting pitcher Anthony Bass. The long ball was measured at 394 feet to right field, and was his first in 74 at bats. Duda wound up going 1 for 3 with a walk and a strikeout as well as the home run, as the Mets won, 6-1. | Duda was expected to show more power in his age-26 season, after hitting 10 in 100 games last season, and he had four home runs in April before this power outage struck. He has been hitting .275 in the month, but has not been able to make up for the lack of power before Friday. Hopefully this can be a sign of things to come for him, as he remains a Fantasy option for deeper mixed leagues. (Updated 05/25/2012). |
