| Nova quality for fifth win: After dealing with a minor hamstring issue earlier in the week, Yankees pitcher Ivan Nova showed no signs of the injury on Friday against the A's. He allowed three runs on six hits over seven innings of work in the 6-3 win. The right-hander surrendered a solo homer to Josh Reddick in the fourth before Oakland added run the following frame. He would give up another solo shot to Kila Ka'aihue for his final damage. Nova also struck out four and walked one while earning his fifth win of the season. (Updated 05/26/2012) |

| Nova had allowed five earned runs in each of his previous two starts so it was nice to see him get back on track Friday. He continues to see solid run support in New York and looks well on his way to another campaign with plenty of wins. While the 25-year-old does not post the most consistent numbers in Fantasy, Nova remains a viable option in deeper mixed leagues. His next start is scheduled for Wednesday against the Angels. When Nova faced Anaheim on April 15, he allowed four runs over six innings in the win. (Updated 05/26/2012). |
