| Rangers pick on young Lyles: Houston starting pitcher Jordan Lyles (0-1) was tagged for six runs and nine hits in five innings during the Astros' 6-1 loss to Texas in an interleague game on Sunday. Lyles, who was making his third start after spending most of the year at Triple-A, finished with a season-high six strikeouts and issued three walks. It was the second time Lyles has walked three batters as he fired 46 balls among his 117 pitches. "The game was on my shoulders and I didn't do a good job," said Lyles, who was told after the game he will be optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City. (Updated 05/20/2012) |

| Lyles remained in the rotation in order to full the void left by injured starter Kyle Weiland, but the young right-hander continued to sputter. "He couldn't get a feel for the ball," Houston manager Brad Mills said. "He had problems locating his pitches in that first inning." Lyles, who turned only 21 years old during the offseason, has seen his hits allowed total increase in each of his three starts as he has now been charged with 19 combined hits in 17 innings.Lyles could return to the Astros at some point this year, but he not worth stashing in most Fantasy formats.
