Rays bring back Abreu on minor deal: The Tampa Bay Rays have been reunited with relief pitcher Winston Abreu. The AL champions signed the right-hander to a minor league contract Thursday. Abreu will report to Triple-A Durham on Friday. Abreu was with the Rays earlier this season. He was designated for assignment on June 27 and traded to Cleveland on July 2 in exchange for minor league pitcher John Meloan. The Indians designated Abreu for assignment Saturday.
