Mets outfielder Andrew Brown has been placed on the seven-day minor-league disabled list.

Brown left Sunday's game with an oblique strain. He's been playing with Triple-A Las Vegas but was a candidate to be called up. Brown has seen 15 at-bats with the major-league club this season. The 28-year-old is hitting .365/.441/.652 in 115 Triple-A at-bats this season.

Brown was positioned at first for the second time in three days and was a candidate to replace Ike Davis at first base in the majors. Brown is hitting .371 with three homers and 32 RBI in 30 games for Las Vegas before getting hurt.

The Mets optioned outfielder Andrew Brown to Triple-A Las Vegas on Monday in order to clear a spot on the roster for Rick Ankiel. Brown appeared in just six games after being promoted earlier this month and departs on a three-game hitting streak, which includes his first homer.

Mets outfielder Andrew Brown was fielding grounders at first base prior to Wednesday's game against the White Sox. Manager Terry Collins said Brown could see playing time at first base, according to The Star-Ledger.

Brown has started twice in right field since his promotion from the minors. Unfortunately, he is 0 for 5 through two games.
